Doug said typically in these conference tournaments the Ref's call the games really close and he felt that really favored Trae Young and he would draw a ton of fouls and make a bunch of free throws and it would be the difference in a really close and hard fought battle. Doug said that was his early prediction and he would have a final one later. I was trying decide if Doug was saying we would get homered, although he was dead serious. Mark Rogers said OU does not deserve to be in right now based on how they have finished.
Doug also said OU right now does not deserve to be in and OSU does although beauty is in the eye of the beholder. He said the games that teams use to "buy" a win are just that, and it does not matter what those teams RPI is as long as you win, he felt those games should not count at all because they are all purchased wins. He said OU has been horrible down the stretch and how can you ignore that? Said you never know what the Committee will do, they can all do whatever they want, he said if you are going to stick to a formula or rules you do not need people voting.
Doug said what helps OSU is that our big wins were on the week-ends against good teams with people watching and that our bad losses were during the week and not seen by as many people. He was saying most likely those on the Committee saw our good wins. Felt like if we beat OU, OSU would be in but it is far from being a lock.
