Are whites the only race that practices racism?

Equality of opportunity not outcome, Dan. I think it is pretty obvious how most of the things on the shopping list de-emphasize background and wealth, and emphasize work and merit.

Let me get out my crystal ball.

You missed the part about capital gains taxes and wealth taxes?
Yeah, your list was so extensive I forgot about capital gains and wealth taxes.

But tell me about banning private schools. Are you thinking that will improve the overall quality of schooling in America? Or will it reduce the quality of “elite” education down to mediocre thus leveling the playing field?

Vouchers and let people go where they want to go.

I'm thinking that's exactly what he means. Like a good communist, bring everyone down to the lowest common denominator in the name of "social justice" rather than lifting all boats.

If I understand @07pilt correctly his intention is to make every school in America be government schools that are exactly identical in every way, thus leveling the playing field so income opportunities will become equal. Or at least schooling cannot be used as a barrier by white racists to keep blacks out of the good opportunities. If that is correct then vouchers and letting parents pick their children’s’ schools becomes moot, unnecessary because every school is the same, teaches the same, has the same facilities, etc. I know Pilt regards himself as a Norway style socialist (whatever that means), but it seems to me it resembles Maoism more than Norway. And I’d be curious to know how Pilt’s school system would be able to avoid indoctrination of students. Which may be fine with him because he thinks the indoctrination would be things he wants indoctrinated. But what if the reverse happened, conservatives grabbed the controls and began indoctrinating students to the horrors of collectivism/socialism? Would our friend then be quite as content with government mandated one size fits all indoctrination of things he views with horror? Let’s ask him. What say you @07pilt?

It used to be the very worst thing you could call one of your fellow Americans is a communist. Now there is a very uncomfortably large cadré of individuals who wear it as a badge of honor.

Joseph McCarthy was, in hindsight, a hero.

Kind of disagree, I would rather educate them than chase them into the dark. Maybe we wouldn’t be where we are today if there wasn’t a McCarthy.

If the rich and powerful have to improve the education of their children by improving the education of all children, then yes I believe it will increase the overall quality of schooling in America. Right now the rich and powerful can opt out and say **** them kids.

Equalized public funding across schools is not anymore subject to indoctrination than our current state school system with unequal funding. I suspect if our elite's children are subjected to public schooling, public schools would likely spend less time on indoctrination and more on education.

Oh, let's hear about this. What is "Mainstream American culture?" Who is forcing cultural assimilation in this country?
I don't think anyone is forcing assimilation.

Just wondering, black people were on this continent in the 1600s, what were they doing in the 1700s and 1800s instead of assimilating. In the postwar era why didn't they just move to the suburbs with the good schools like the white people did. Why did they insist on going to jail for so long for drug possession. Mysteries.

Well geez, with all that, how are there any poor white people in this country?

Well, it's not hard. Since racism seems to be the key to black poverty and "lack of opportunity," how come there are poor white people? I'm doubting it's a race thing, but I could be wrong.
Racism explains why poor people are distributed unevenly across races not the existence of poor people. Of course you know that though.

Well, shit then. Blacks can't be successful until we solve this racism thing, monetarily via the government of course, and by lowering standards for everyone else. You've proven that beyond a shadow of doubt.

So, what's keeping you white guilters from doing the right thing? Do you really need the government to force you to do the right thing? If you feel guilt for your skin color, pony up.

I'm no saint. There are limits to the sacrifices I'll make for nonsystematic change.

Why did they insist on possessing drugs?

Aren't you some kind of fvckin' phd or something? Why aren't you teaching in one of those chitty schools instead of bantering around on a message board? Apparently you, too, have said "fvck them kids."

You ever seen rose state? Doesn't get much chittier

Uh, because they're an undisciplined, law-scoffing p.o.s.?
Let’s be real here, the war on drugs is ****ing stupid and the Nixon administration used it as a weapon against minorities and political movements he didn’t like. It’s also not a life sentence to be carried out by street justice.

Regardless of whether you think a particular drug should be legal or not, drug laws which have passed both houses of congress, the President's desk, and deemed constitutional by scotus are easy enough to obey. 55mph was too slow for the interstate, and yet I had no problem driving that slow.
