I'm always looking for the new big app that's going to change the way I do something. I haven't found one lately. The last one I liked a lot was Waze. Anyone have a new app that's innovative?

It isn't necessarily new or innovative, but Todoist has definitely made me way more productive and helped me keep track of all kinds of things, not just tasks.

I found one called Overdrive. It seems you can check out audio books via your local library with their app. I haven't been to a library in almost 10 years, so this may or may not even be a new thing. However, it was to me.

You actually don't need Overdrive. Any good e reader will allow you to login and check out books from the library.

Ammoseek. Good app for finding some of the better deals on ammo and also checking availability of older and more obscure rounds.

Was hoping for more from this thread.

@Mr. Blonde I downloaded that app last night. How long of an adoption process did it take for you? Anything to add to what you've already said?

Most of mine are for travel/efficiency purposes while in the air or on the road. They seem almost generic to me now but perhaps they are new/can be of use to some of you. I too am interested to hear what other people use!

In no specific order:

Cuda Sign
- fill out/sign/send PDF (any?) documents from phone without scanning ability

CamScanner
- take pictures of a document(s) and creates a PDF on your Phone that you can file and/or send out.

CamCard
- automatically reads, takes picture of and stores all information from a business card. Not need to carry someone else's business card.

FlightView
- for the weekly traveler, just a great way to navigate airlines, flight options, flight times, gates, etc from city to city

Uber/Lyft
- I keep both on my phone for the times when uber is in high demand. I'm a BIG shared ride proponent. If you have t attempted to utilize either of the services yet, try it out for dinner/drinks in the next few nights. Great great service.

Yelp
- I'm a Yelper. Locate restaurant types, locations, directions and 'patron grading' easily. Really locate any type of business with the above information. For those unfamiliar with it - it's like the Yellow Pages in your phone - hence Yelp.

Open Table
- utilize for making dinner reservations wherever I'm headed to

GrubHub / UberEATS / Favor / DoorDash / Delivery.com
- meal delivery services. Some of them deliver anything you want services. Like you type out a list of stuff you want from Walgreens and they get it and bring it to you. Amazing for the helplessly busy/lazy. I'm still trying to figure out which apps from this category are going to stick around. It's an emerging category and each has its perks.
*i believe most of these are only available in largest/most condensed cities at this time. Keep an eye out though as its only a matter of time.

White Noise
- there is no need for bulky, expensive noise canceling head phones. Download this app, create your customized, preferred noise or soundtrack and utilize ears buds with the soft rubber gromit type of fit. Voila.
I fly into/out of Orlando almost weekly...kids are excited screaming on the way there and sad screaming on the way home. It is hell without something to neutralize the masses.

Waze
- I work for an Israeli company and this is an Israeli developed app and they will let you know. They're quite proud of it - as they should be. Like mentioned above, this is a game changer. If you're still utilizing Apple Maps to navigate or get around - stop immediately and download this. It will take a week or two to get used to but its well worth it.

Some others of note:

YahooSports - sports, duh
Fandango - for movie theaters/tickets
DropBox - file sharing system
Uverse - great app if you have ATT home service.
MyTalkingPet - fun
FaceSwapLive - really fun

Simple. "Find My Friends".

As a father of two teenage girls, this app is imperative.
