He was on the Franchise w Colby and Sam and he was straight up asked who should be on OSU's short list if a move should be made w Travis this season.
His very first name without hesitation was Doug, then he said Desmond immediately after. I didn't think much of it at the time but the more I thought about it the more I seem to think that he could be an amazing coach.
He's young (late 30s), likeable, knows the game inside and out after a nice NBA career and great college career, could relate to any 18 y/o he would recruit and is one of OSU's favorite sons.
Normally I would avoid a first time head coach like the plague given what they would be walking into right now with our program, but there's no one else short of Self who would immediately fire the fans up and get some butts back in the seats and take us on a wild ride. He knows what Stillwater and GIA is all about and would know how to communicate that to HS kids. His team's would NEVER lack hustle or fundamentals, would absolutely destroy the glass, would defend like their hair is on fire and I really think he could attract some real talent to Stillwater.
Anyone else put any sort of thought into Mason possibly getting a look?
