Anyone ever retrofit an old whole home intercom system

I can’t help you with your question but will never forget having the intercom on in my room by accident while my parents were listening in.

Hahaha. I’d drop the microphone and just use speakers for music if I tried to do something like this.

we replaced the speakers in each room trying to find something the same size as to not have to do any sheetrock work. We found them. Bought a new main box that fit in the same hole. It does work but the speakers in each room are pretty large and look more than dated. It never gets used...occasionally use the radio which you can hear in every room.

We are in the same situation. Have about 10 indoor and 2 outdoor that have been decom’d But I need to get someone to rip those things out, sheet rock, paint, etc.

We probably have 200 miles of coax run through the house, choking out every conduit. But the original owner went cheap on the cables and they are now brittle and basically worthless.
