149 PSU Fall 2nd 12-6 PSU

Bunch of BS by the ref in that one, but Josh got caught in a cradle after a reversal.

Kindig just got pinned at 149. OSU down 12-6.

Wow....Brown looked like he had a severe case of the flu and had to lose about 20 pounds in one day to make weight.

Marsden's win was also in OT. What a fun match to watch.

Wow what a crazy duel.

Hope Kindig is okay. I think that's the same hamstring. Taking away the takedown was garbage and I think it impacted the match and likely led to Josh's injury.

Crutchmer was so gutsy. Needs to work on cardio, but he took a tough, tough guy to the wire.

Good Boyd showed up.

Marsden looked spent, but made it happen. I think maybe the moment got to him.

Eddie wrestled a great match.

Dean needs to open up a bit more, but was in solid control.

Collica did well, and I'm happy for the tech, but Alton was nowhere near mat shape. Frankly surprised they threw him out there.

Ringer is a beast. No one touches him.

Gwh just made a silly freshman mistake. He's so small.

Overall ... How can you not be happy?

My biggest complaint is how refs still don't call stalling. How Alton wasn't stalled out against Collica is beyond me. And the guy Ringer wrestled....another one who should have had multiple stalls called on him.

Drove from Creek county to watch, after wife told me this could be our Valentines to each other. I married up.

I liked the way GIA was set up.

Klimara started strong - 2 TDs in 1st followed by 2 ESCs, and then gives up a TD at the end and is tied 4-4 going into 2nd. The NF 3 in the 3rd was good.

Harding, as Cowguy mentioned, made a mistake. Tried to dive through and got caught and flattened.

Heil gutted out his match. Should not have been that close. Moss of PSU wrestled well. The desperation move (what was that, a standing cement mixer?) when he was behind 2-1 in SV was better than most. Good for Heil to defend that and get the TD at the end to widen the gap to 4-1.

Kindig's match was not good. Does anyone know what happened to his leg? That looked like a thigh to me, but might be the hamstring.

The ref really blew this one. Too quick to award the TD to Kindig. Then in the scramble Kindig comes out on top anyway. If the ref waves off his TD and let's the action continue, Kindig ends up with a TD about a minute later. After Kindig comes out of the scramble and is in control (about a minute after the 2 pts were awarded) Cale is over at the head table waving and clapping his hands above his head to get the ref's attention, so the ref stops the match. Video review, ref reverses his too-quick TD, which means the rest of the scramble is 'bad time'.

That ref had 5-6 video reviews. Too many.

Collica was a surprise, to me. Alton ranked 8 in the country, and Collica gets a Tech Fall. Plus Alton looked huge compared to Collica. I thought Alton was pinned at one point, Collica had his toes in the circle and Alton was on his shoulders, but the ref calls them out of bounds.

AD was overpowering. I thought Hammond had a for sure single leg TD, and AD with an under hook - and not a very deep under hook - and only with his left arm, on the way backwards - whips Hammond over.

Crutchmer was oh-so-close. He obviously thought he got the win with his TD at the end of the 3rd, tossed his head gear in celebration. But Brown's riding time tied it. It looked like Cale wanted a team point deduct, but didn't get it. It looked like Brown had more in the gas tank in the scramble in SV, and got the TD.

Boyd did OK. A little more separation would have been better.

Bean wrestled well against MacIntosh (#4). He wasn't going to win, but no bonus.

Marsden's match was too close. Was that Lawson or Gingrich?

Collica was best

Favorite matches
Crutcher almost beating Brown
Collica making an idiot of Sanderson for starting Alton. Laughed my head off.

Worst match
Harding going to his back to grab a leg.

But it all worked out and Pokes win.

I just read John Smith's comments about the Penn State dual. Seriously, what the heck does this even mean?!?

"You have to look at (the team) and see what you have," said OSU coach John Smith. "For what we have, we're wrestling above what we are capable of, and that is what you like to see. We have guys who did some things tonight that I wasn't sure could do it, but they did it. Those are the things you like to see. You like to see your team above what they are capable of wrestling. A lot of times it ends up in a good place at the end."

00, no need for the Kindig comment.

EV, I think he is just saying these guys are exceeding his expectations and he likes it.

Pretty exciting that this team has only one senior starter, who had a very capable replacement, and they have had the second ranked class the past 2 years.

I doubt we see kindig until the big 12s . same hamstring as 2 years ago. just a bad day for him that kept getting worse. Im glad the rest of the team pulled it out for him.
