Im rooting for Pittsburgh overall, but I want San Jose to win tonight as to extend the series. I'm just not looking for the season to end so soon. I'm a Blackhawks fan, so I don't care too much either way. My brother was a Lemieux fan back in the day, so I tend to root for them through the playoffs.

Of course, even though my Hawks have already gone home.

I'm watching and pulling for San Jose. Stanley Cup is still the most exciting championship in sports.

Fitting you posted this on the non-sports board.

I kid I kid. Wish I could get into hockey actually.

Just out of curiosity, why are you Hawks fan? Do the names Pit Martin, Steve Larmer or Murray Bannerman mean anything to you?

For the record, haven't watched but two shifts of the finals. Just can't get into a Sharks/Pens final. Gotta watch out for Pittsburgh though. Impressive run in the post season knocking off New York, Washington and Tampa.

For me, I'm a Hawks fan because my dad grew up in Springfield, IL and we root for the Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks (Not the White Sox). My grandfather is from Nokomis, IL and a large part of my extended family still lives there. He went to Chicago a great deal and was always a Cubs fan and that's always trickled down through the fam. I grew up playing NHL 93 with Tony Amonte, Chris Chelios, JR and others. Seems like everyone is a Hawks fan these days, but so be it.

Same, and I've tried and tried. You hear the "but you have to wach it live" but I lived within half a mile of the AAC for 5 years and maybe went to 3-4 Stars games, one with seats on the ice. I've been to a Blackhawks game lower level too.

I respect the sport and it's not hard to tell how insanely talented those guys are or how tough but it's just impossible for me to get into a sport that I never played and can't relate to.

I know who they all are, and I watched Bannerman and Larmer play. Not really sure why I became a Hawks fan, but I have been since the 1980 or so.

I personally think there isn't a better sport then Hockey. Also when I go to Toronto this year it will be fun telling all those Canadians how real hockey resides in the great country of USA!!!! I kid I kid that would get me knocked out probably up there.

I've been a hockey fan since the 60s. Saw a few HOFers at the old Fairgrounds Arena, and later the "incomparable" Myriad. A highlight game I attended was in December 1979, when the US Olympic team played the OKC Stars...a couple months later, those guys became heroes. I don't get to watch as much hockey as I would like to these days, but I've been pretty involved with the playoffs. Thought the Blues might make a run at the Cup, but I think the 7-game series against Chicago and Dallas did the in against the Sharks. Don't care for the Sharks.

I'm holding the same stick in both photos. The recent one is from this past Christmas, I got a replica Blazers sweater. The stick belonged to Ron "Bucky" Buchanan, front row right in the team photo.

Wow, casdas, there are some pretty big names in that photo:

Gerry Cheevers, Dick Cherry, Wayne Cashman, Derek Sanderson, Jean Pronovost, Glen Sather are all recognizable names to any hockey fan of the 1970's-80's.

Blazers must have been a farm team of the Bruins at that time.

I still like to watch a game from time to time, but the season they cancelled the playoffs kind of ruined it for me. I also don't like the shoot outs in the regular season games. I told my buddy when the playoffs were just starting that the Pens were the team to beat. They got really hot at just the right time. I've always been a NY Rangers fan.

Wow! Casdas, Major props, my friend. Great photos

Did you cut that Buchanan stick down? He was pretty tall and that stick looks short. We used to have a Reggie Leach stick but I broke it as a kid. We still have an old goalie stick from the late 60's....but don't know who used it. Russ Gillow?

Random useless info: Buchanan has been living in Texas since retiring from hockey. Bradley stayed in Oklahoma City, worked at GM and coached high school and college hockey at OU and UCO. Was a hilarious guy to play for. Great stories.
