Have been wanting one for awhile and the wife finally gave me a green light. After I buy new carpet for the house of course. Have ridden one since Highschool so a little worried about a test drive. Been thinking about an Indian Scout or Dark Horse

I just got a new bike myself. Way more than I need in the power department...

Will get me one sooner that later. Waiting for the wife to have a permanent spot. I was promised one if she drags me out to Idaho (she'll be a prof). I have always Scouts or Harleys. The Scout Sixty and Harley 883 will prolly be my first bike. Wife likes the Trikes more just because they're bigger and easier to ride.

I've considered it several times in recent years... But then I observe the maniacal and idiotic driving habits of the masses as I go to and from work and think to myself 'how can anyone be alert enough to avoid all these idiots and keep breathing?'

If I ever move to a place where I could go ride with very few other drivers on the road I might get more serious about it.

My apprehension, too (minus the wife), but I would ride strictly in the country. To hell with city idiots.

This is me too. I’ll stay out of the city. I talked my wife into it after being worth more dead than alive. I do have worries about safety but my midlife crises inevitably approaching is winning that battle. But I am thinking an Indian scout or Scout Bobber. The bobber looks badass but seems like it’s uncomfortable for longer rides

You guys are nuts.

6.2 of the 7.3 miles between my house and the office is a bike path. They fear me on that bike path...

save yourself the pain, agony, and misery. I know it looks fun but those concrete razberrys really hurt. Just too many idiots driving cars who will hurt you. I almost did it about a year ago and my better senses stopped me. Came within an inch of a sportster. Now glad I didn't squander my resistance. Thought about dirt bikes but you can get hurt just as bad on dirt. Had a friend who just replaced his shoulder. Better find a safer way to get that thrill...I just don't know what it is.

So not one motorcycle rider on this forum? Should I include scooters?
