Man I have really come to enjoy this show on the weekends. Also the guy from Tulsa with the nickname Sticks is pretty good on there. I also think he is an OSU fan because I notice he wears orange on game days. The one Saturday night that kicked of with the guy eating a whole ham was awesome. The world just fascinates me sometimes.

It's a good show. It has gotten some bad PR for many of the agencies on there unfortunately. Tulsa is not renewing the contract.

What bad PR?

It has just been mentioned by a handful of cities that are not renewing their contract with the show.

Below is from a news article discussing several departments leaving the show...

"— Some law enforcement agencies have ended their agreements to be on A&E Network's real-time police show "Live PD" as local government leaders concluded the program was making their communities look bad."

Weird I must admit I got into this show over the summer while on vacation I caught it one night at the hotel. From what I have watched I would think it would give a positive vibe. Seems odd but maybe they have started show casing the other departments that are going to stay on. I will say there a couple times I thought man that one guy is a dick but for the most part the cops on there seem pretty cool. I mean people are breaking the laws should breaks be given just because America cheers for an underdog? I would think the cameras would keep the departments honest also.

I was at a party with live pd on in the background. Only captions. I was all “is that a damn hunk of ham?” Thought it was hopefully bread but when the officer said that’s a big price of ham I lost it. What happened to those two, I got distracted.

They convinced the ham eater that someone must have butt dialed 911 so he wouldn't beat up the weird dude in his underwear after the cops left. Ham eater was cracking jokes with the police by the end of it. That dudes house had more mold then a 10 year old cheese.

I don't think the issue is that its giving the Police departments 's bad publicity, its that the show is making the communities look like shitholes. This is focusing on the part of towns that most of the viewers stay out of. I never saw the episodes that were in Tulsa, but my GF commented that she didn't know that Tulsa was that dirty/crime ridden, and she's lived here 15+ years. Mayors and community politicians are probably telling police departments to stop the show because its making the politicians look inept.

I think the PD's have come across really well and its been good for them. I often wonder when watching if these officers usually let guys go as often as they do when cameras are rolling though. Couple weeks ago they showed a woman driving her kid around at night high on MJ. Officer was like, well I cant let you drive home, but you can call your family to come drive you home. No ticket or anything. Justin Blackmon probably watches this show and wonders where those officers where when he got pulled over for weed ;-)

Ok that makes sense and I get that.

Same thing happened with COPS. I remembered they wanted to come to Tulsa and the leaders at the time said no thanks for the same reasons.
