Noodling what this means... Ft. Hood was IMO a mix of a nut job going off for political/religious reasons. It is a good one to talk about when thinking about what gets the terrorism label.
Not intended to be a direct comparison. More of a jab at previous terrorism episode that was mislabeled at the time (and still may be by some).
Some would say you have a mental issue if you aren't a progressive.
The guy needs to be committed. Parents have guardianship. Appears the narrative trotted out for consumption is not entirely accurate.
TW and DOK need to beat this drum. Mental health crisis in our State. This doesn't count our STATE mental health commissioner (Terri White), being arrested recently in the Redneck Riviera.
The parents' narrative makes me pause. The guy was plainly incompetent and if his parents are to be believed, lacked the money, car, resources or knowledge to set off a bomb. It's starting to look like the FBI took an incompetent guy, gave him a bomb, told him how to set it off and then charged him with trying to set off a bomb. Why not get him some help and see if that helps? Maybe they did. The parents said they had to run off the undercover FBI guy.
There's a little bit of appearance of the federal B.I. working really hard to generate "We're Heroes!" headlines in lieu of simply helping the guy and preventing it.
You pretty much have to have mental health issues of some sort to commit a terrorist act.
( I know what you are saying in this case... but I see people from all sides try to excuse someone of their own "group" as simply being disturbed to absolve that group.)
That's the problem with all of this whipping people into a frenzy that we see from both political spectrums right now. The mentally ill take if far beyond words. You see it on the left, you see it on the right, and you see it in Islam.

Man... they better have recorded every conversation with him. If they can prove that he was the one that was making all the decisions and such, then...ok... but this can get real muddy as to whether there was any chance the undercover agent pushed this along any or encouraged him.
