Another machete attack.

Watch the EU media puzzle over mental health and unknown motivations that are TOTALLY unrelated to Islam.

EU media? Try a certain disconnected from reality segment of the American population that's convinced the threat is really Trump/Russia/Guns/Big Oil/Air Conditioning.

I've lost track of how many times I've seen friends on facebook post stories about how ISIS (aka the Islamic State) is not Islamic and has nothing to do with Islam.

Speaking of which.

People don't kill people. Machetes kill people.

Well, to be fair the machetes only injured two people. You can't really kill a room full of kids or people watching a movie with a machete, can you?

I can't understand why second amendment enthusiasts are posting stories that highlight the difference between crazy in this country = several dead cops and a few more shot, vs. crazy in belgium, where crazy = two injured officers.

@MegaPoke sides with the crazies over the cops, kids, etc. He doesn't mind kids and cops getting killed nearly as much as not being able to shoot cans with a .223 and fantasize about kicking ass.

You can keep repeating your stupid narrative, but that doesn't make it remotely true, clever, meaningful, world view changing or funny or whatever it is you are going for.

It's what you've said. Actually, "just because" is the reason you've provided. I'm being generous.

Yes, jackass, you can. When you run out of anti-firearm talking points, read up on the 1994 Rwandan Genocide where 500,000 to 1,000,000 men, women, and children were killed in the span of three months, mostly via machette (and other bladed weapon) attacks.

Oh, I know, that happened over in Africa somewhere or something and it's not really applicable to these attacks that keep happening for some reason. It's not like it illustrates the evil that people are capable of committing in the name of some jackass cause when you get them all wrapped up in that jackass cause.

After all, firearms and the people who support an amendment to the Bill of Rights who are the issue....not the people getting so wrapped in a jackass cause that they become willing to slaughter their fellow human beings for that jackass cause. Because as long as you're a member of certain groups, it's okay to hate your fellow man to the point you're willing to take a life. Or multiple lives.

But own a gun? Support the second amendment? You monster.

Liar

"The analysis shows that the probability of being killed with a firearm depended on the location where the victim was killed (more particularly, on whether or not the victim was killed in a large-scale massacre)"

The interesting thing, my deceptive, dumbass friend, is why you people have to lie to defend your position. Try stripping out your fear, deception and alarmism and stick to facts. Guns were used for large scale massacres.

You see, it's easier to run from a machete than a bullet. If one guy walks into a school with a machete, people can run away from him - his machete won't extend the full reach of rooms and hallways, like a bullet. You'll pretend not to understand that to further your point though, won't you?

Yiur next factual post against guns will be your first.

You sure about that? Was that guy only ~19? Maybe not so determined? Maybe not big enough to have a one swing kill?

Hey dip-chit,

Whatever you do, don't read any stories today about a suicide bomber in Pakistan killing 63 and injuring nearly 100 (those numbers may be higher by now).

Ya see @syskatine, a gun isn't even the first (or second) choice of terrorists. And for mass casualties, a bomb is cheaper and easier to obtain and conceal than a scary rifle.

Suicide bombers are a dime a dozen and worth less than the rifle itself. Just tape some c4 to them and send them to hell. Cheap, easy, effective.

I know in your imaginary world, terrorists go to knives and machetes - killing a tiny statistical margin fewer people than they might with a gun, but in reality, they just go to cheaper and massively more effective options like box trucks and suicide bombs.

You are the Wyle E. Coyote of deep thinkers when it comes to guns.

Who gets a bigger boner? Left wingers when there is a mass shooting with an assault rifle or right wingers when somebody goes on a stabbing spree or plows through a crowd with a truck?

How many have to be killed at a time before it is an issue? I need to know what the line in sand is.

Just to play:

Machetes have an unlimited banana clip and a built in silencer. You also don't have to be particularly skilled to use one.

It is in this country. Thousands every year. Bombs, machetes and airplanes all distant second. Even in 2001, all were a distant second to the firearm. And why are you so mad, that's just how you want it, isn't it? The loser, the terrorist, the insane, able to swing by and pick up a semiautomatic and kill a few dozen innocents just because? And it bears out in annual death statistics.

So precious how you skip over "free, law abiding citizen" in your hysterical hyperbole examples and go straight past hundreds of millions of people right into statistical anomalies.

Other than that, great points as always!

Terrorists kill thousands with guns in the US every year? Are we calling gang bangers terrorists now? I'm all for that. Making the support of gangs a high profile terrorism crime might actually do something to stop the gang violence. Gang tattoos, gang signs, graffiti, etc punishable by prison time. I think I like where you are going with this idea syssy.

Huh? Statistical anomaly? Firearm deaths are in the thousands every year. Thousands doesn't count?

Gawd, nothing better than a snoot full after suffering over a hot grill and getting to fill in the blanks of a massive beatdown!:D

Whiskey Jim takes great pride in ignoring people. That way he can read the threads and declare a beatdown without the burden of reading the other half.

Firearm deaths?

I'm sorry are we not talking about terrorism anymore? Are we now taking about suicides and gang violence? Because outside of those two things, yes it's still a statistical anomaly.

In my demographic, gun violence is not a daily worry.
