Anyone have any good home remedies for the good old fashioned seasonal allergies? Seems like any season change my daughter goes for stuffy nose (allergies) to sinus infection about a week later. All doctors will tell us is to take a daily allegra or claritn but honestly that has done nothing for stopping this stupid cycle. Just started yesterday and we fly out on vacation on Friday (about the time this thing will go full blown sinus infection.

We neti pot and gargle warm salt water. I'm really desperate not to be stuck on a cruise with a sick kid.

I thought we’d tried this once only to find out my wife had just bought some store brand. Need to give it another go. About to try some apple cider vinegar with “mother”.

We are netitiepot champions. Holy moly, just made the first drink with apple cider vinegar, man I hope it works otherwise it's just the most cruel thing I've ever made her drink in an attempt to get well.

Buy some local raw honey from a nearby farmers market. Make sure it was harvested somewhere near where you live (within 50-60 miles or so). A small spoon full a day is supposed to help.

Netipot is great. The newly released nasacort formula they released for OTC purchase has worked for me so far this spring/summer.

ACV is brutal but I swear by the health benefits of it. Not only does it do wonder for my digestive track but I lose weight like crazy when I drink that stuff three times a day. Try mixing 2 table spoons with 8 ounces of water. It helps take a like of the sting out of it

Well if it helps you lose weight I might try it too. I spent the last few holes of the golf tournament looking up recipes.

I'm sure this will spark some interesting discussion but I started seeing a chiro a little over a year ago when I was having some sciatic nerve issues. I've continue to go monthly since I first started and I haven't had a single issue with allergies since and I had it really bad in spring/early summer.

Chiropractor’s scare the shit out of me, but I’ve heard this from multiple people. I may try it because my quality of life is totally dependent on taking a Zyrtec daily.

I was of the opinion that they were quacks for a long time but I ruptured my patellar tendon and being on crutches for months threw my pelvis/lower spine out of whack, all my weight on one leg for an extended period of time. Well, that caused my sciatic nerve and piriformis to get all jacked up, my left leg/foot would go numb at my desk. I did every stretch/exercise I could find on the internet and nothing worked so wife finally talked me into seeing a chiro. 2 months of regular visits and I was back to normal. I didn't even go for the allergies originally but haven't had issues since. Go 1-2 times a month for "preventative maintenance"..runs me about $60 a month but well worth being able to use my nose and not having to try and fall asleep w/ coughing due to itchy throat.

Just do your research if you decide to go to one, don't end up at some @chirocowboy that's gonna tell you you have to make payment with handies.

I too was a skeptic, but my wife has gone to one and he cured her ills when nothing else worked...she even has scoliosis. Turns out they can cure a lot of different things...even diabetes in some cases. Who knows what works and what doesn't, but these docs are worth a try for sure.
