I’m not a right winger so I can’t answer your confusion. Matt Taibbi recently had an article about a woman that did a documentary trying to understand who Jones appealed to, and why. You might try to find it. If I remember correctly they were mostly disaffected young white males who had little hope for their future. Politics was down the list of their reasoning.
It is stunning to me that a guy I’d never heard of until you brought him up socked away that much coin.

The documentary I referenced earlier has pretty good insight on who was/is attracted to him, and it’s a relatively small slice of disaffected youngish white boys.
