Bowman was once considered one of the better college football quarterbacks. In the 2018 season as a freshman at Texas Tech, Bowman threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 17 touchdowns and completed 70 percent of his passes. His QB rating for the year was 150.1. He threw for over 400 yards twice and he threw for nearly 400 (397) against us. Kliff Kingsbury was his coach that year.
After 2018, Kingsbury left Tech, Bowman got hurt, and his production dropped considerably. Then, as you probably know, he spent two years buried at Michigan.
So, I say all this to lead into this question: Is Bowman‘s production this year - or lack there of - a result of his injuries of the past, his lack of playing time the last two years, or the fact that in 2018 he played in a system run by a great offensive mind, and now he doesn’t?
What say you?
By the way, two of Bowman’s best four games of his college career (against D-I competition) have come against Oklahoma State.
