Is it just me or did this guy kinda come out of nowhere? I have to admit, i’ve never heard of this guy until this year, probably because I only watch the Big XII very closely.
But he’s taken Alabama from an average program and lifted them to one of the top programs in America pretty quickly. In his third year, he quietly led Alabama to an SEC regular season and tournament championship and a Sweet Sixteen appearance and has done the same thing this year while leading them to the No. 1 ranked team. And he’s recruiting like a banshee. He has the top freshman (and overall player) in the country and has one of the top-ranked classes coming in next year.
He came from Buffalo where he took over after Bobby Hurley left for Arizona State back in 2016 and led Buffalo to some success.
