What I don't get is why we crucified the EPA guy for these same travel luxuries that members of Congress exploit every day.

Where else can people go to be given $4 + trillion a year to spend that doesn't come out of their pockets? Where they can get a lavish salary with benefits and a pension while only working part-time for a short number of years compared to the private sector. Where they can be wined and dined and flown over the world by lobbyists. Where they can go to exotic countries at taxpayer expense which they call fact finding junkets and we call vacations. Where the moment they are sworn into office they miraculously become experts on subjects they have no clue about.
