Could have knocked me over with a feather: WOMEN DOMINATE!!!
1. The distance from the basket to the three-point line in all divisions of NCAA basketball--for both men and women--is 6.75 m (22 ft 1.75 in).
2. Engineer Chau Tran and an assistant published research in December that examined men and women free-throw percentages in NCAA basketball over a 30-year period. The findings of their research: women shoot free throws at 3 percent higher consistency than men.
3. A second study also found that women shoot 3-pointers at a statistically higher consistency than men!!! Aha--I've been suspecting that might be the case for a long time..now it has been confirmed!!!
4. All other factors being equal, there is one slightly significant difference in the college game--regarding equipment--between men and women that I had no freaking idea--care to guess? I'll post answer later today....
POINT BEING: Our free throw shooting under MB sux!! Maybe new Cowgirls Coach Hoyt could share some tips!!!
