I just saw that Texas aTm was picked 7th overall in the SEC and 6th in their division. I know it wasn't long ago that everyone was talking about how the Aggies had won big in leaving the Big 12, and how they were now one of the elite programs in the nation. Of course, before they bolted to the SEC, they had fallen off and were basically an afterthought in the Big 12. I am wondering if all of the excitement over the rise of their program was fool's gold. They had a couple of years with Manziel at the helm, but will it turn out that those seasons were just exceptions, and that they will be a mediocre to bad SEC team going forward?
I'm not debating that they ended up in a better situation (SEC > BIG 12). I'm just suggesting that maybe they didn't win as big as it seemed they did at first blush.
