I think their exposing of the sheer stupidity and hypocrisy in that field was both long overdue and brilliant.
Academia has become like a religious cult. There's zero tolerance for any view that doesn't conform to their made up shit.

Interesting that more than 60 people have been murdered prior to having their case heard since 1990. Reportedly at least 1,472 have been charged under blasphemy laws from 1987-2016. Of those 730 were Muslims, of which 501 were Ahmadi Muslims who aren't actually recognized as Muslim, 205 Christians, and 26 Hindu. So, you're good to go with prison for people who commit some sort of sin against a religion?
How about stats from some other Muslim countries? I'm sure Pakistan is an outlier...

Of the 1,472 reported cases in Pakistan, only 730 were Muslims. Why "only?" Because Muslims represent 97% of the population of about 195,000,000, or 189,150,000 people. That leaves about 5,850,000 non-Muslims.

Story from my extended (and attempted endeavor to be a lifetime college student at OSU). After getting a fairly useless undergrad degree (my fault alone and no one else's), decided to go ahead and get a secondary ed/coaching degree. Could always teach my love of history, science and geography while figuring out what's next.
At 28 (almost 29) had to take the second US History, think it was called 1865-present. My teacher was a lady who drove up from norman three days a week to teach the class. Even at that age I had read extensively on much of the US history, post War of Northern Aggression, The conflicts between Native Americans and settlers/government, Woodrow Wilson, WWI, The Depression, WWII, the presidents, Korean War, Vietnam and so on. My questions were generally open ended and to say we were diametrically opposed on many issues would be an understatement. Before long she would refer to me as "the class dissident" when recognizing me after raising my hand to make a statement or ask a question. I loved it! Everyone else in the class was a freshman and nearly everyone would stay silent, even though outside of class they would say they didn't agree with her. Another plus was she had a super hot grad student/assistant (knock a buzzard off a gut wagon hot) who I was able to go out with and get loaded on many occasions, but alas that's another story.
In the end we disagreed more than we agreed and I had to catch her "office" and argue why she was shortchanging me on a test score then lay out my argument. Nearly every time she would change the grade. It was a great experience and I really learned a ton in that class because it was taught from a stance that America wasn't that great, White people were evil, we should give the country back to Native Americans and so on. I eventually decided that getting a graduate degree in History was my path. Soon after that was offered a fulltime job in Jackson Hole WY so my love for the outdoors and meeting tons of hotties during the summer at the retail store I managed won out over a grad degree in History. Those were great days though.

loaded = multiple beers. She would call and say hey you want to go to this or that happy hour? I did, would and paid she had this amazing hold on me. Great gal as well though, not near as left as the prof. But discretion also had to be practiced due to the obvious fact I was in the class she was an aide for.
