Abrams again?

For IX?

Better than the random unknowns they were plugging into VIII, IX, and the Han Solo spinoff.

After the Hans Solo disaster they don't want better they want a sure thing with no drama. They know J.J. will deliver on time and on budget or close to it and gross a billion. Disney is a corporation. They're not looking to reinvent the wheel just cash the check.

Is Abrams not popular among the fanbase? I've seen all the movies but am not an uber fan. I thought his was good. It seems like most things he does turn out pretty well.

He's limited.

He's safe.

He is a fine director, but only a decent writer.

He will deliver something between a 6.5 and a 7.5. Yea!

Although he creates exciting story possibilities with fantastic visuals he sucks at details and has yet to produce a satisfying ending in anything he's done.

The major issues I had with 'LOST' carry over into everything he does. He's concerned with compelling characters and plot is merely an excuse to explore those characters (ok, maybe he's not that bad... Maybe).

His work can be very entertaining and sometimes almost just as frustrating.

Let's look at it this way:

George Lucas is a lazy fat troll who if he had ever tried to make 7/8/9 (he wouldn't have) it would have been abysmally painful.

JJ is logarithmic improvement over what we had...
