TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A gunman killed two people and wounded five others at a yoga studio in Florida’s capital before killing himself Friday evening, officials said. Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo told reporters Friday night that the man shot six people and pistol-whipped another after walking into the studio, which is part of a small Tallahassee shopping center. The suspect then fatally shot himself, DeLeo said. Early Saturday morning, the Tallahassee Police Department identified the shooter as Scott Paul Beierle, 40.

In one video, the man said promiscuous women deserved to be crucified and he suggested putting up land mines to keep people from crossing into the U.S. from Mexico.

In another video, the man who appeared to be Beierle likened his adolescent self to Elliot Rodger, a 22-year-old who killed six students and wounded more than a dozen others near the University of California, Santa Barbara, before killing himself in 2014. Rodger was a self-identified "incel," short for "involuntary celibate."

Beierle was a member of the Facebook group We are Conservatives, a community of President Donald Trump supporters. In an April 2016 post on conservative pundit Michael Savage’s Facebook page, he referred to Hillary Clinton as “Heroin Hillary” because of drugs coming over the border. He also called President Barack Obama “the greatest misogynist who has ever occupied” the White House.

“How no one has called him on this is astounding,” Beierle said of Obama. He is fast-tracking Muslim men via the refugee horde into the country and refusing to even a pause to vet them.”

Terrifying. How do you think we should handle all these right-wingers? Should we round them all up and put them in re-education camps the way the left-wingers do it in China?

Tax and spend money on educating children and inculcating western democratic ideals, for starters. Teach critical thinking in lieu of worldview projection.

Impose strict civil liability for e1 that provided him a gun.

Less anarchy where every lunatic is a King with instant life or death power over his peers.

I’m sure our porn star/playboy bunny banging president somehow inspired this guy to crucify promiscuous women.

Kinda reminds me of the chick who shot up YouTube. What do those two have in common?

Assigning political meaning to the actions of insane people isn’t going to get traction dummy.

Shoo troll.

The American people are already taxed too much. Why not take some of that tax money away from a few existing programs to give to the programs you describe? How would those programs work? Who would run them? How would they be different from China’s or Russia’s re-education camps?

Should we impose strict civil liability to a car manufacturer or dealer that sold a car to a drunk driver that kills people? Or someone like that crazy lady in Stillwater a few homecomings back? Or the guy in London that took to a sidewalk and killed and maimed a bunch of people? How about a pharmaceutical company when a whacked out nurse kills patients on purpose?

If not, why not? What makes a gun manufacturer or dealer different?

And, I'd add to this that leaders on the right need to cool it with the extreme nationalistic rhetoric. They need to reject fear-based divisive rhetoric.

Just curious. Every time someone in this country murders innocents, are you going to tell us that we can't tie that in to politics because the dude was clearly not mentally stable? Or, are you only going to tell us that when the murderer is not a Dahmer/Omar Mateen type of individual who makes it clear that politics played a large part in his actions? I just want to know what the ground rules are.

There are 300,000,000 people in this country if you round down.

What I’m saying is take off the pundit hat and use basic math and channel your sophomore statistics class and come to a non-stupid conclusion.

If I have to remind you of this every time it happens, so be it.

Until “the left” drops the identity politics where everyone who votes for Trump is a Nazi racist sexist homophobe blah blah, you can fvck right off with your rhetoric bitching.

Passive aggressive strawman argument to the extreme right there.

Like the Hatfields and McCoys it’s hard to know which side started the war of whose political rhetoric caused some nutjob to go off the rails and murder people. I think probably the left started it, but the right has been very quick to jump into the “whataboutism.”

It is useless for left wingers like 2 cents to implore right wingers to tamp down the rhetoric. Right wingers are never going to listen to 2cents (and people like him) give sermons on the damage being caused by their leaders’ rhetoric. If it doesn’t come from a right wing intellectual with impeccable right wing bonafides it will fall on deaf ears.

The same thing goes for the left. Right wing “whataboutism” is pointless. The left will never concede.

“What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate!”

They wouldn't even listen to someone like that either. They would just label that person a leftist too (or a liberal, or a socialist, or a globalist), call him/her names, belittle him/her, get all defensive, etc. Just look at how they have responded to right wing intellectuals who have broken with and criticized Trump.

It has nothing to do with a failure to communicate and everything to do with anger, hate, and fear. Anyone who opposes Trump is the "enemy." Anyone who doesn't see how the "other" is destroying this country is the enemy. That is how they see the world. It is that simple.

I think you are correct. I think the same holds equally true for leftists. Do you?

If you are speaking of leftist nationalistic groups or leftist authoritarian groups, then yes, I would agree it holds equally true for them. Not all leftists though just like not all conservatives/right-wingers.

Not to mention that division is the ultimate goal anyway by the powers that be. But that is a whole other conversation.

Nice save! I was scolding you when I saw you posted this!

Can you blame them when they can’t even publicly claim to have voted for trump without being labeled a racist?

IMO it is pretty disgusting to call someone who respectfully disagrees with your political views a piece of shit.
The current day leftists are disgusting. Not because I disagree with them, but because they are vile, disgusting pieces of shit.

You seem to ignore a lot of people and questions yourself.....is that also chickenshit or is it somehow different?

Hmm. No reply.

Seems like a chickenshit move there, Ralphie. o_O

We have to both be realists or both be utopians if I'm going to engage with you. No more, "Well, I'm utopian, it doesn't have to be realistic."

I’ll be happy to engage with you, but I have no idea what this means. Care to explain?
