I’m an old hippie, don’t own a suit (actually don’t even own a pair of slacks - it’s jeans for me) - and haven’t worn a tie in at least 40 years. But I have noticed that DJT’s ties hang down nearly to his crotch, which looks bewilderingly unsophisticated to me. Is that the style for ties now? Or is Trump so bad at tying a tie that the fat part hangs 6” longer than the thin end? I know this is a frivolous thing to wonder about, but I have noticed this, it looks silly to me, but maybe that’s the way ties are worn today. Any of you GQ sophisticates know the answer?

I do.....but you have me on ignore, so....*shoulder shrug*.
I am a tall guy(6'3 +) with a ~17 1/2" neck and it is difficult for me to get ties to my belt even with a single-windsor. It drives me crazy.. Lots of people wear double-windsors now and it just takes a longer tie. I dont know how tall he is, but that could be the reason it is a little longer than normal. Also he wears a pretty small windsor so it will use more if the thinner part of the tie.

You should travel overseas.....the big fad now (and maybe it’s been for awhile) is the dress shoes that are about 3” longer then they need to be and they taper to a flat front. Goofiest thing I’ve ever seen. Looks like elves in training.
