-I thought that Ford was terrible in the last 5 minutes of regulation. Went into clock burning mode way too early. Didn't go into the zone defense soon enough.
-However, I thought that his move to double team Isaiah Taylor, in the backcourt was very smart. Especially with Felix out of the game and unable to help take pressure off of Taylor.
-I'm still pretty surprised that we got so much first half production from guys not named Nash or Forte. Hopefully, the other guys can continue to show something on a consistent basis.
-Solomon was CLEARLY better than Allen last night. He doesn't score, and he needs to get stronger, but he does all of the little things so well. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with him as an alternative to Cobbins.
-Hickey was great last night. Especially in the first half. But, Griffin is so much better at breaking down the defense off the dribble. I think he will be a player for us if he sticks around for 3 more years. Kid is gritty and fearless.
-Speaking of Hickey. He missed both FT at the end of regulation, but he should not have even been at the line. He passed the ball down court well before he was fouled. How is that not an intentional foul with Forte shooting the FT and OSU getting the ball back? That was one example of why I felt the refs were doing their best to get UT back in the game at the end.
-How about Newberry last night? He didn't put up any eye-popping stats, but he really brought a lot of energy. He out-hustled UT for multiple rebounds and got some deflections on defense.
-Smart move by Barnes to start the hack-a-poke strategy with well over a minute left. Most coaches would have waited longer, but it ended up paying off.
-Where was Myles Turner last night? That kid is too good to have not done more in that game. He is also too tall for our undersized team to defend. Should have had a big game, IMO.
