A Bet on Economic Pygmies....

I agree, interesting. Two quick thoughts:
1. Who has more to lose? Us, or the pygmies? If we lose, we lose international standing, regional influence, and the objective we’re trying to reach. If they lose, then they get westernized, and all things being equal they turn into a South Korea style success story.
2. In these countries, can we realistically separate the leaders from the country itself? Putin can succeed without Russia profiting, but if Russia profits, putin realistically succeeds too. Can we separate the success or failure of the leaders with their countries?
