Any of you guys have an AR in 6.8? i'm thinking of selling my AR in .308 and getting a 6.8. I like my .308, but its too heavy to lug around hunting coyotes, pigs and deer.

So no takers on the 6.8? I sold my .308 and ordered a Daniel Defense Ambush in 6.8 today. Excited to get it in and put some glass on it and get to shooting.

Hopefully I get it in this week. I ordered a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6 to put on top of it. Should be a great all around hunting gun once I figure out what ammo it likes to eat.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but 6.5 Grendel looks to perform a little better than 6.8. I've considered a 6.8 as well.

Got the scope in on Monday and got her all set up. Hope to take to the indoor range on Friday and get it sighted in. The photo is kind of shitty..

I'm confused.... where is the bikini model who is supposed to be holding the gun?

The gun looks great... waiting for a range report....

OK real question. Anyone own or have an opinion on the 300 AAC blackout round in AR15? I was playing with the idea of using some subsonic rounds around for varmints.....

I took it to Wilshire Gun Range today and put about 60 rounds through it. To put it on paper i was just running some cheap Federal 115g stuff. The gun didnt like those much. Once i got it close i started shooting Hornady V-Max and BTHP in 110gr. It liked those and was shooting 1 inch groups at 100. The BTHP seemed to be a little more consistent. As far as a hunting bullet goes, neither of these will be my best option, but for pigs and coyotes they'll work.

Subsonic plus a suppressor is what blackout was designed to excel at. No suppressor shouldn't materially affect performance.
