3.9 % unemployment

We are going to see a slow down in efficiency due to unqualified workers getting jobs they wouldn’t get if companies could be more selective. The trucking industry cannot find enough drivers and I know personally they are scraping the bottom of the barrel to find them.

How many poor employees (low productivity, wasted time, poor attitudes, missing too many days) could we come up with right now that need to be fired and replaced with someone more competent? Just out of the people we know personally.

The onerous regulations truckers deal with compound the problem.

Why are you against the 3.9% that are still unable to get jobs despite their daily attempts!?!?

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/jolts.nr0.htm

There are six million jobs available and 6 million people looking for work.

If we gave non voting/non citizen registered legal status to every illegal in the country today and started a push for retraining our work force to fill the gaps our economy would explode.

You would have to Katy bar the borders and fix the visa overstay problem.

There should also be a government database for companies to interview registered foreign workers. Match.com meets LinkedIn with a .gov. Profiles, references, comments from former employers, etc.

Also doesn't help when the writing of this job elimination is on the wall with the direction of automated driving. That's gotta impact the rate of new drivers entering the industry.
