Anyone have any clue as to who we wrestle at 197 this weekend. My immediate thought was that Geer would move to 197 just for this weekend the only two possibilities I see at 184 would be Haas or Taco. However, you would not want to waste a redshirt for either for two matches and also I do not have any information on how Taco is physically. I know we will not forfeit a weight but the only other scenario I see is moving Stika up to 184 and Geer to 197.

You don't move Geer up. Stika is 11-3 at 184 this year, he looks like the guy to me.
I’d say throw Stika out there. Geer needs to wrestle and beat Keckeisen and Coleman.
I would be shocked if it wasn't Stika. I'm not saying that with any info. He just makes a ton of sense. Don't think you want to burn Haas or move Geer.
My vote is for Jalin. I'd love to see him at all the weights eventually.
Smith is so awesome. What an amazing coach and person. He is so competitive and yet so sensitive and wise.
He is the best. I loved the look on his face when Robert Allen said he’d have to cut off his arms and legs to make 197. I’m pretty sure John was thinking we might need to find just a little more.

Wouldn't count Stika out. He beat Glaser last year.
We need Young to win these types of match ups to build confidence and for seeding.

As John said, Young needs to get tougher. IMO he has the skill he has the strength, he needs to finish faster but mostly needs to get tougher. Both he and Sheets need to drink a big can of whoop ass and get mean and tough!!
We’ve got more than those two that just aren’t mean enough. Wrestling is about going out and putting your opponent through misery. Make your opponent quit.
I believe Carter Young is tough but he needs to get a couple of wins against ranked opponents to bolster his confidence. I would say the one wrestler on the team who needs to get meaner and tougher is Witlake. He has the skills but many of his matches against unranked or inferior opponents end in decision. I agree with the predictions of Jim Reaper except at heavy weight. Surber can win twice this weekend and I believe he will. I also am going for a pin with Fix as Attasauov is aggressive and I think he will try to take it to Daton which generally gets a mean reaction in scrambles.
Sheets let’s guys in on his legs way too often.
Man, I disagree about Wyatt. I'm not saying he has jumped levels but I think he is wrestling how he always has. Wyatt is who he is. I actually think this might be his most consistent stretch of wrestling.
It's possible Wyatt is still holding back a little because of the knee. I also thought he made a jump at the end of the 2020 season. He beat Justin Thomas & Kaleb Young fairly easily in Feb, then majored Jared Franek (turned him a couple times) at Big12s. And his final against Carr was pretty competitive.

You guys are probably right. He was wrestling really well at the end of 2020. My head was stuck in 2021.
John has told multiple reliable sources that he could have wrestled last week and the week before. Never heard what the minor injury was but coach did not want him further injured before this weekend.
Yes, G suffered a rib injury against Air Force and then wrestled the next 2 duals, losing to Mauller & Lugo. Glad to see John rested Wittlake.
