And that is the best the Republicans have... good luck making that the campaign killer they hoped it would be. At this point the Republicans look silly. Significant miscalculation.I'm you mean besides the fact that she's continually lied about multiple facets of the whole affair? The fact that it was proven this week that she told her daughter and the Egyptian PM hours after the attack that the video had nothing to with the attack but then continued to spread that garbage for days?
That laugh was from the unedited question that was asked. In its unedited form:She's a skillful politician, and yesterday was a masterful performance -- no doubt. Gotta call a spade a spade on that.
On the other hand, this is so weird. WTF is up with that laugh below? She's so calculated, it rubs people the wrong way.
Even though she'll get a bump from yesterday, it doesn't change the fact that people don't really like her or trust her.
It sucks (and she probably did lie) but the GOP just has to let this sh*t go.
Or as Kenny says, 'Know when to hold em, know when to fold em."
I am not an HRC fan - she won't get my vote.davidallen - several points on your point:
- There is no doubt that many of the Republicans were hoping to use this to detail Hillary's Presidential hopes
- So? Hasn't she demonstrated through her actions, her lying, her obstruction that she deserves to be derailed?
- I also believe there were members of the GOP who were sincere in wanting to really figure out what happened and why in Benghazi. There wouldn't have been so many hearings if Hillary hadn't lied about her e-mails to begin with and if she hadn't made the stupid decision to use only a private e-mail server for official business.
- It is pretty tough to make something a campaign killer on HRC when 90% of the MSM has got her back like the praetorian guard.
- Some of the sound bites and video from these hearings may prove a lot more damaging to her in the long run than you or I can fathom tight now.
Big mistake by the GOP to bring Hillary in to testify at this time. Even if she did poorly it would have given the Dems time to find a plan B or nearly a year until the general election to rehab HRC's image. Optimal strategy would have been to draw it out as long as possible and hope that enough people associate all the smoke with fire.

You can take McCarthy at his word on this point...Was it meant to be a campaign killer or just continued stress inducing harassment?
You can take McCarthy at his word on this point...
To my eye she was stress free and now has a rally point/example to point to on what is wrong in the Republican party today.
This will be her rally point for fundraising and getting her base out on the streets:
"This committee was set up, as they have admitted, for the purpose of making a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans," she said. "I would never have done that, and if I were president and there were Republicans or Democrats thinking about that, I would have done everything to shut it down."
We discussed this a couple of months ago. Obama pushed that lie far more than anyone from the State Dept. To this day no one can find a documented instance of HRC making a false statement about the video. The only undocumented instance of a false statement was in a private conversation at what amounted to a funeral, which as horrible as it sounds probably wasn't politically motivated. The response being: HRC and the rest of Obama's inner circle cooked up a BS story about a video and continued to push it to the media and to (at least one) dead American's family members when they knew it wasn't true, all because they were concerned about how the truth would reflect on Pres. Obama as the election approached.
IDK, they're the smart kids. Why do YOU think they pushed that story? We discussed this a couple of months ago. Obama pushed that lie far more than anyone from the State Dept. Even Susan Rice's talking points concede that the attack was carried out by extremists with heavy weapons. Is there really that much to be gained by saying there was a video protest preceding an attack by extremists with heavy weapons versus just an attack by extremists with heavy weapons?
Both of which are true.HRC Sept. 11 Press Release:
“As we work to secure our personnel and facilities, we have confirmed that one of our State Department officers was killed. We are heartbroken by this terrible loss,”. “Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet."
In her memoir, she says she issued tht apress release BEFORE speaking with Obama.
Also, from "Hard Choices": “It [The video] was unquestionably inciting the region and triggering protests all over, so it would have been strange not to consider, as days of protests unfolded, that it might have had the same effect here, too,"Clinton wrote. "That's just common sense."
Could it be that is what they were being told? Or could it even be that there were indeed protests about the video outside of other State Dept facilities that muddied the issue?IDK, they're the smart kids. Why do YOU think they pushed that story?
Again also a true statement. On 9/14/2012, she said the following, on camera at Andrews AF Base, while awaiing the return of the remains of Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens:
"We’ve seen the heavy assault on our post in Benghazi that took the lives of those brave men. We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful Internet video that we had nothing to do with.”
Boy, it's that certianly makes it really hard to believe she would've then uttered to Charles Woods, "“We are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son.”
Those two statements just don't fit together at all. And certainly Mr. Woods would have much more reason to lie about it than HRC.
Again also a true statement.
Remember the whole point here is to convince people that don't already think HRC is a scumbag.
No, it isn't true. None of the violence ANY of the embassies was because of that stupid fu**ing video. You can be obtuse and parse it all you want. She lied and continues to lie to this day about the whole affair.
Are you sure about that?Marshal Jim Duncan said:No it isn't true. None of the violence ANY of the embassies was because of that stupid fu**ing video. You can be obtuse and parse it all you want. She lied and continues to lie to this day about the whole affair.
