1) Underwood Offense - we need to change the offense back to this base offense. We were one of the top 10 offenses in the country that year (on 03/17/17 we were ranked 6th averaging 85.7 points per game) and we didn't have the playmakers and shooters that we have this year. Can you imagine Hidde in the high post with the handoff, pick and roll, elbow shot, or the step back 3? This offense worked great because there was a lot of ball movement, backdoor cuts, but more importantly there were a lot of high percentage layups. If Boyton doesn't know how to run this or isn't comfortable running it, put in some tape from that year and have one of our assistant coaches figure it out and run it in practice. It's not rocket science.

2) Ice Needs To Attack - we are a much better team when he is attacking the rim and getting layups using his strength and body control or kicking out for an open three-pointer. Also, in our offense our players need to attack the rim more instead of being content passing the ball around the perimeter. When we attack the rim we tend to get layups, get fouled, or have kickouts for an open three-point shot.

3) Play The Hot Hand - rotations and player substitutions will change throughout the year. I hope Boynton allocates more playing time to those players that are playing well that game, instead of riding the experienced players even when they are playing poorly.

4) End of Game Coaching - I love Boynton as a recruiter, his embracing of the university, and his overall open, honest, easy going personality. However, he still has a long ways to go when it comes to actually managing the game. I thought he made quite a few mistakes down the stretch in the final 5-10 minutes of the game that could have cost us the game. He really needs to consider doing offensive and defensive substitutions in the final few minutes. Always put the best defenders on the floor, this does not include Dizzy and recently McGriff. The Boone twins are long and athletic. Then, if the other team scores that's when you put in your best ball handlers and free throw shooters. Otherwise, if you get the stop and you're already ahead it doesn't matter who is on offense. In this case, you just put the ball in the hands of your best player and allow him to attack the rim and not settle for dribbling the ball to run the shot clock down then forcing a contested 3-point shot at the end of the shot clock.
