“One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late.

Yes because of a lack of trust.

Maybe you could get someone in an official capacity other than person on campus to say black people are too stupid to go to the DMV
Is there someone with that official capacity? I assumed it would be a floating, shifting dynamic like who gets to call something socialism, it’s in the eye of the beholder. In the eyes of those random socialist college kids (and the random adults, and the kids’ college professors) blacks are too stupid. So it becomes part of official leftist lore, does it not? Like Norway is socialist to Pilt, but not to Norwegians. Eye of the beholder.

There are government officials, people with titles, professors, attorneys representing black voters, even TV personalities. Feel free to say what you want but don't be surprised when people are baffled about what you are talking about.

Oh, so the only people you authorize to speak for the black community are those people with the credentials that @Syskatine is so fond of. Got it. So while socialism is in the eye of the beholder, not all socialists’ eyes are equal. Got it. (Of course everyone knows that much.). Random college students need not apply. Got it.

You are the only one baffled by what I was talking about, and we both know you knew exactly what I was talking about, you just needed to vamp for time while you figured how you were going to obfuscate on this one. At any rate I’m clocking out for the night, so take the last word if you want it. As always it’s been fun!

Speaking for the black community?

Maybe, but the media didn't go to some trump central location to find the overwhelmed hospital system. They went to a predominately black, democrat leaning city to find the problem. Why do you think that is? And how do we salve it? I'm confident a psa from trump isn't swaying the African American community to suddenly get their jabs.
Also sorry to short circuit your narrative but this hospital is on the majority white southeast side of Birmingham.

Good grief. If you want to get the vaccine get it, I did, but if you don't want it and are scared of it that is your choice. Why are vaccinated people scared of the un-vaccinated ?

I don't want anyone to get sick but if you are the vaccine police and you don't believe your vaccine works you are a hypocrite.

You didn't get the vaccine and you get sick and die. That's on you and you alone. Why do libs freak out about this?

For a party that interjects race into EVERYTHING, I find this response comical. That said, per your story, she is a nurse in Birmingham, AL. Per Google, that community is basically 70% African American. So while PD's message wasn't polite, it also wasn't off-base.

So @Syskatine (or other liberal water-bearers): Why is an African American community that is predominantly Democrat (voted 56% Dem in 2020) not getting the vaccine? It certainly isn't due to a "love of Trump", as seen by his nearly 13 point defeat in that county.

First, no, she's not a nurse. Read the post. She's a hospitalist.

Conservatives have weaponized race my entire life, and this thread is no exception. Look how you guys made it racial and you've twisted facts to do it. What's your point? You're defending Trump when absolutely nothing in the original post had shit to do with Trump. But nonethelesss, like a dim-witted cult member, you race over to push a cult narrative. Hell everything through the prism of black or Trump in the cult.

Is the service area of the hospital the city limits? You've cherry picked a black population for the hospital to make your point, but the city of Birmingham is lines on a map, do you know the service area? The hospital is on the affluent side of birmingham, fwiw, but the service area is probably, like tulsa and okc hospitals, much larger than the community it's in. I've stayed near the hospital, and that area of town is leafy and nice. This is racial breakdown from the 2010 census on birmingham's wikipedia page, red is white and blue is black population:

1920px-Race_and_ethnicity_2010-_Birmingham_%285559862755%29.png

So what you did is ignore the neighborhood it's in, or the greater area it serves, and isolated the one demographic classification (city limits) that makes it a predominantly black hospital s. If you do a (shock and gasp) google maps hospital search, there are multiple hospitals in the blue area of town.

This is why the Cult got its ass kicked and there's a huge collective bottom lip stuck out right now over losing the election. You need to step away from it and listen to new people.

Well, if they’re too stupid to know where their local DMV is, or lack resources to get there, as America’s leftists insist, it is not out of the question to think they failed to get vaccinated for the same reason.

I’m curious to see your next obfuscation, the game you play so well. Or, you could just answer the question. Is it because they’re too stupid, or because the Tuskegee experiment is fresh in their minds? I don’t think there’s a wrong answer, both possibilities have come from your side of the aisle. So you needn’t fear that you’ll break ranks with your team.
LOL gratuitously introduces race and then accuses others of being on a "team."

Which is it, Dan? You brought it up, enlighten me. Are blacks too stupid to get the vaccine? Are they distrustful?

Why do you think this new, private hospital in the white area of Birmingham treats a predominantly black population when there's multiple other public hospitals in the black areas of town?

So you're saying if a neighborhood is 'leafy and nice' it must be conservative and white? And you guys call us the racists?

So where on this map is the hospital located? I assume its down in the bottom right corner somewhere away from all the "blue" dots?

Your responses are so many and so scattershot I don't know if I can get to everything. But I'll try.

1) The perversion of language has gotten out of hand. Today is the first time in my 74 years I've heard the word "hospitalist." What is a "hospitalist?"

2) I think the weaponization of race is a two way street. In the last forty years or so I think the Left has been far more apt to weaponize it than the Right.

3) I gather you are lumping me in as a conservative, it fits your binary world view. I'm not now and have never been a conservative. But I understand you are incapable of figuring that out.

4) What's my point in introducing race in my original reply? My point was to poke fun at you and the Left in general by throwing Leftist arguments back in your face.

5) I took the time to go back and read all my comments in this thread and not once did I mention Donald Trump or defend anything about him. I think it says a great deal about your mental makeup that you see everything through the prism of DJT. The cult narrative of which I was making fun constituted the opinion by random leftist college kids (and some adults, and the kids' professors who taught them to say what they said about stupid blacks). That's the cult narrative from the left side of the aisle (regardless of how Pilt insists it's only "random). I simply pointed it out and asked if you agreed with it. About which, tellingly, you never opined.

6) I didn't cherry pick anything about the hospital city limits. I went by another poster's statement that the city involved was 70% black, nothing more.

7) In the recent election the "cult," as you call it certainly got knocked to one knee. It will be interesting to see if it gets back up. Right now I would bet that it will.

8) Yeah, I gratuitously introduced race into the conversation because it put you back on your heels when you saw your "team's" modus operandi thrown back at you. Are you denying that you belong to a team? That would be incomprehensible. I'm on the radical, free market, individual liberty team, and I'm proud of it.

9) You asked me "which is it?" I don't think it's any of them. I don't think blacks are too stupid to follow Leftist's instructions. I don't think the unvaccinated whites are toothless ignorant MAGA-hat-wearing WalMart customer yahoos. I most certainly don't think blacks refuse to get the vaccine because of memories of Tuskegee. What I think is each unvaccinated individual is unvaccinated for his/her own personal reasons, none of which are any of our business.

10) I have no idea why "this new, private hospital in the white area of Birmingham treats a predominantly black population when there's multiple other public hospitals in black areas of town."

I think I addressed everything. If I missed anything let me know.

Do your own homework, lazy dumbass. What a waste of time, engaging someone that's just gonna try and twist some racial/cult narrative no matter what.

Get vaccinated, competent Dr's have strong opinions on it. The OP is one of a thousand interviews and anecdotes where competent people are saying the vaccine works.

For whoever said people still get the virus, yes, it's not an invisible force field. The vaccine enables the body to fight it off because it recognizes a protein on the virus. There's still an immune reaction/fight. It just gives your body early warning and the ability to identify an invader, it still has to go to work and defeat the invader.

Whatever the criticisms of the vaccine, getting the vaccine is way preferable to getting 'Rona, or getting it, being fine, but passing it along to someone that doesn't have the same immunity.

You seem to know the "science" better than me. You say "...being fine, but passing it along to someone that doesn't have the same immunity." Who would not have the same immunity? I assume it would be another unvaccinated person. What are the levels of immunity, and how does one go about knowing which level another person has?

1. No. Not my job.

2. Until now. YOU, not some leftist, introduced race.

3. You sure seem to share the conservative worldview about everything. You argue like them and make the same arguments they do, at least on here.

4. Wtf? Have you heard my rant about race? How many times have I introduced race? See, you're just like a conservative. You've strawmanned me, just like 90% of their arguments. No lib introduced race. It's like 95 - 5 con to libs that introduce race on here. This thread is a great example. This doesn't count, though, huh?

5. I said that you interjected race, which you did, and the cult took off with race in the thread. That's a cult narrative -- racial victimization. You played it PERFECTLY, just like conservatives always do, and then you.... ACCUSE YOUR OPPONENT of it, lol. Really, Dan? Introduce race, the cult takes off, then you accuse the libs of bringing up race. Toast to your conservative tactics, Dan! Another great example of right wing morality! Commit the sin and then accuse your opponent of it!

6. No, something more. This is your first post:

Since you read it all maybe you can tell me. Does the Doctor say most of the patients in this predicament are poor black folk who are too stupid to know where to get the vaccine, or don’t have the resources to get there? You know, like they’re too stupid to know how to get an ID. Or are they ignorant white racist hillbillies who have refused to get the vaccine as a misguided act of defiance against a government that has nefarious intentions?
You introduced the racial narrative to the thread, and they took off with it. Masterful job, but don't spin the facts like you've done anything but the very sin you accuse libs of, while libs rarely introduce race here.

7. Oh, the cult is here to stay. They've been here since forever, it's just the latest branding.

8. I'm not sure which "team" I belong on, Dan. I guess the reality team. I'm not real thrilled with the democrat party right now. As Iv'e told you multiple times, if you ask someone's opinion instead of straw-manning an opinion in their mouth, you can get a more genuine and productive conversation. You're wanting to test drive strawman narratives, and its' frustrating but you're gonna have a really hard time finding people that believe all the shit portrayed on your right wing media sources.

9. I'm still struggling to understand the relevance of introducing race, then. Particularly when you follow it up by accusing your opponent of constantly bringing up race.

10. Yeah, it makes no sense. But look how your.... joke (I guess?) was taken by the cult. They started in earnestly trying to parse how and why blacks aren't taking it. And you say you're not a conservative. Riiiiiiiiiight. You whipped it up PERFECTLY!

Fine, I'll agree to a compendium, but I get full editorial control. I want it like a right wing radio guy, no other opinions so I can just tell everyone what the opponent's argument is and dismantle it.

1) It was a rhetorical question. You were not expected to define "hospitalist" for the same reason nobody can define "critical race theory." Neither term has a coherent answer,

2) You apparently don't grasp the concept of sarcastic humor.

3) There is very little I share with the conservative worldview. I hate it all. I gather you don't remember the many, many times I had quibbles with the MAGA people on this board when DJT was president. I remember one time in particular when Harry accused me of hating Trump. Which was true, but not for the reason he assumed.

4) No, I haven't paid much attention to your rants about race, or anything else in particular.

5 & 6) I don't speak for the cult, only myself. If you have issues with things the cult said on this thread, please direct them to the cult.

7) Yes, I think the cult is here to stay. In spite of his many faults Trump showed the cult they need to fight back, and not be the limp-wristed establishment Republicans they had followed in the past. That must scare the living crap out of you and your team. You have had clear sailing until now

8) I can tell you with certainty on which team you belong: the hate DJT team. You are literally a "180 degree-er." Someone who listens to what Trump and the cult say and reflexively take the 180 degree opposite opinion. If Trump said the sky is normally blue you would not hesitate to disagree. Beyond that you might be a tepid Democrat. There. I've told you which team you are on. You're welcome!

9) Again you are missing the point, whether intentionally or not I don't know. We ALL struggle to understand the relevance of introducing race in every single issue, something the Left does without hesitancy.

10) I refer you back to my answers on Numbers 5 & 6. Take it up with the cult. I'm not in the cult, never have been and never will be. But I have to admit it has been fun to watch you get so flustered when traditional leftists arguments are aimed at you.

There's ANOTHER maga tactic -- finally get a dialogue going and then the other person is "flustered" or "owned", like it was an epic troll. Of course, neither is true. Why do you think this exchange flustered me? The savage wit of rhetorically asking... what a hospitalist is? Was that the one?

I've done my homework. A hospital in a county where the population is 70% African American combined with clear CDC statistics that African Americans are LEAST likely of any demographic to have gotten even a single dose of vaccination leads to the logical conclusion that the majority of this hospitalist's patient's are African-American. Given that African-Americans vote democrat by a 7 to 1 margin (per exit polls), I'm still struggling to understand why the OP's original problem is related to anything "conservative".

So? So if theyre black that means..... ?

And most of these people coming thru the retention centers are refusing the shot. So illegals can refuse but if citizens refuse they will come to their house. Bunch of hypocrites.

My mom who is 70 got the shot. She went to get her annual mammogram and they had to note if she had the shot as per the tech those with the shot are showing enlarged lymph nodes. I’m not getting shot. I had COVID so I have the antibodies already. If I end up getting it again and it goes south then that just means God is calling me home. Live your life and stop telling me how to live mine.

I know you are emotionally incapable of eliminating Donald Trump or MAGA from any political discussion. Which is part of your charm. You can’t resist manipulating yourself. None of my comments had anything to do with either Trump or MAGA. But your tunnel vision forbids you from seeing anything else. I’m sure the version of this discussion as concocted in your head can see no fluster. The version concocted in my head sees major fluster. As Pilt puts it it’s in the eye of the beholder.

Been par for the course since the beginning…..

That 7 to 1 they are Democrat and thus the narrative of it being conservatives driving the vaccine hesitancy fails to hold water.
Ooops. Try again. White vaccination rate in AL = 33% Black vaccination rate in AL = 32%.

It was a rhetorical question. You were not expected to define "hospitalist" for the same reason nobody can define "critical race theory." Neither term has a coherent answer,
A hospitalist is an internal medicine physician who admits patients to the hospital. It's a clearly defined role in medicine just like general surgery, cardiology, oncology, and orthopedics.
