Didn't want to derail the spirit of the other thread but...

Comic Books- I grew up with a guy whose family had plenty of disposable income. He used to travel to comic book conventions all over the country and had some very valuable comic books. I loved looking at his most prized books, and started a collection of my own. Used to read them voraciously. Still have some. Still have a love for comics in general (not current day stuff). Really wish my kids were into it, but they aren't (other than going to see Marvel movies).

Super Hero movies- These have been around for years. I used to always find them disappointing, but things have changed in the last decade. The studios have figured out how to do them right and the technology has advanced to the point that they are becoming more in tune with reading the comics they are based on. (DC still hasn't quite figured things out, IMO).

Harry Potter/LOTR/GOT- 3 huge Fantasy franchises with multiple books and video installments. I really enjoy all of them, but in slightly different ways. I find Harry Potter to be special in book form, but meh in movie form. I find LOTR to be so-so in book form but special in movie form. I find GOT to be very enjoyable in both book and TV format, but subtly different from each other.

Pool- Don't play much anymore, but have always enjoyed sharing a pitcher with a buddy or gf while playing for hours.

Poker/Blackjack- Whether it be playing with buddies or in a casino, I never want to quit once I start.

Water Skiing/Hanging at the lake- Have not had many chances to do either one (always dependent upon having a friend with a lake house/boat). But, thoroughly enjoy it when the opportunity is there.

Snow Skiing- Haven't done much of it in recent years, but I loved it as a kid and would enjoy it now if I could make it happen.

Skateboarding- As a kid, spent most summer days on my skateboard.

Frisbee- Hadn't thought about it, but I am surprised that it has waned in popularity. Maybe it hasn't on college campuses.

A couple not mentioned in the other thread...

Westerns-Loved Clint Eastwood when I was young. Lonesome Dove and Silverado are still two of my favorites. I am always excited when a new western shows up and it turns out to be a good one (like 3:10 to Yuma a few years back).

Science Fiction- Was weaned on Star Trek from an early age. Still enjoy a good SF book/movie. Really looking forward to The Martian with Matt Damon. Great book. Should translate well to movie form.
