The GOP vs the World

Isn't he the guy that offered $1M media blitz to prevent Rand from winning?

There were rumors that he was going to ensure that Paul did not get the nomination but he met with Paul and assured him it was not true. Adelson is the consummate corporatist Republican, and not a friend of liberty. And he wants the next President to nuke Iran.

So in short he's a psychopath. Probably a sycophant for Isreal too? Paul moving to a more hegemonic position is disheartening.

Greece is a terrible example due to their economic situation, but I've got to admit that I like how their parliment is setup. The population votes for one of many political parties, and the percentage of votes determines the makeup of the parliment. So if 3% of the country is communist, then 3% of the parliment is communist. You'd then get coalitions of supporters around different agenda items and not always R vs. D. So in the US, you'd have a religious conservative party, the tea party, the democratic party, libertarians, a socialist party, communist party, etc... and the parliment would much more closely reflect the makeup of society. This would give a lot of the power back to the middle (where most people reside), rather than the current system which is controlled by the extremists of each party.

I like that model as well. To add to making our system worse the 17th amendment effectively ruined our bicameral legislature and created 1 massive entity as well.
