I have stated several times I am a Henry rifle nut....so I just stepped off into the deep end and bought the Original Henry rifle engraved edition. I actually plan on firing this gun at some point, I know that most would throw it into the safe or hang it in a case, but see, I'm stupid and can't do anything like that (Joe Pesci from Casino voice).

My local gun dealer actually called Henry repeating arms and tried to get one through them. He spoke to the president of Henry on that phone call. All have been spoken for, but I found one on Gunbroker for a few hundred less than the MSRP. The president of Henry got my name and phone number and address, called me up, thanked me for being a loyal customer and since they didn't have anymore available he is sending me a bunch of goodies....

So although I spent a crapload for one gun, I'm feeling kinda special right now. It's ok, you can touch me....just not down there.

I just ordered the limited edition Ruger Gator Country 10/22 for my bday, Father's Day, fellowship graduation, finally done present. It is so crazy I couldn't resist it.

I love that one too. Before I plunked down for the Henry, I ordered the Talo edition with a walnut stock Ruger 10/22 takedown. I have a feeling that gator gun will be a helluva deal for years to come, I almost ordered that one.

I had to "retire" my old 1964 Nylon 66. Just didn't want to abuse it anymore. Still looks good, but I got the bug for take down type guns after I got a Henry Survival Rifle. Now I want an M6 scout by Springfield, but they sure have jumped in price lately...

I got my gator today. It is much better in person. The way they did the engraving, they left the semigloss finish over his eye so his eye even shines like a real gator. Favorite gun already.

I bet!! I too got the Talo takedown in and the Henry Original Engraved. That Ruger Talo is just awesome, doesn't have the engraving that yours does of course, but it's really well made. The little exclusive case is awesome too, it's smaller than the one that comes with the regular take down but it's a Boyt case and VERY padded.

The Henry is just too awesome for words. I would love to post a pic of it. I got number 904 of 1000. Paid way less than MSRP and waaaay less than what some are trying to sell for right now. One site has it listed at 4K, which it's still early to be asking that much for one of these. Cabelas wants like $3500 for it.

Amazing gun and heavy as hell. The president of Henry sent me 150 rounds of Winchester 44-40 since they couldn't find me a gun to send to my dealer (I had to go through a store in Iowa on gunbroker), and I will be shooting this thing at some point. I couldn't be happier with a purchase. Im anxious to try out the ladder sights since I have never shot a gun with them....supposedly you can attempt shots up to 800 yards lol.

Now that I just ordered that Fallout Pipboy edition, with my Henry Rifle looking like a Lincoln Repeater, all I need is a Vault Tec suit and I'm ready for some real life post apocalyptic action!!

Yup, I'll be saving the brass for sure, I'm going to start reloading soon. I have a neighbor with the whole setup, going to see if I can use his equipment to reload these 44-40s. They are pretty hard to find, there's only about 2-3 companies making this stuff in any quantities right now. I would really like to have some Jamison 44-40, the lead is set better in the case and is very smooth in the Henry. The Winchester ammo isn't too bad, but that Magtech crap is just appalling. I will never use Magtech ammo....EVER.

Just got back from the range after shooting my Henry Original 44-40. Wow. Anybody who is a gun guy needs to experience one of these guns. I'm sure a lot of people buy these and throw them into a safe, but I just can't do that and I'm super glad I didn't. Just a wonderful experience and I was at 50 yards, once I got a feel for the gun I was hitting my 5 inch spinner with ease, standing, off hand. The 44-40 isn't a powerful round at all really, just a big slow bullet. It did end up knocking my target out of the ground a couple times since it's rained so much.

Really looking close at either the Ruger LC9s or LCP for a deep concealment piece. I think they are both good values. My glocks are just too big to conceal effectively in some situations. My pocket smith and Wesson is a little too thick and heavy for 100% concealment. But it is very good.

My neighbor has an SR9 Ruger with a silver-grey DLC (diamond like coating). It's an awesome gun, apparently they only made a few like his. If I was going to get another small gun for carry purpose, I would definitely grab one of those.

I like how the mag is shaped on those, one of the few small guns that fits my big paw comfortably. Usually I feel like I'm holding the back end of a cigarette lighter with those guns. I carry a 1911, I have a slip on style holster that works with even my gym shorts (if I cinch them up well) and holds the heavy Colt .45 On my right hip pretty well. I switched out the grips on my Gold Cup Trophy Colt with a set made by Recover Tactical, the holster is made my Recover Tactical as well and it all works well.

Did you see the Henry rifle F150 on the front page of gunbroker? Pretty cool but too pricy already with forever to go in the auction. One cool thing about Henry and Ruger they don't mind making small runs of unique setups. I really like 1911s too. But i would not be able to guarantee 100% concealment with them. You know what scenario I need it for.

Yes I do. And yes I saw the Ford, that's just crazy money. Hope it has Raptor type underpinnings for that kind of cash.

Shot the gator today with my dad and littlest bro. He is going to be a freshman at OSU next year. Shot great, no problems and it added plenty of vent holes to several dr pepper cans. Everyone was impressed with the gator stock.

My dad ordered a Ruger 77/17 in .17wsm. His new prairie dog gun. 20gr bullet at around 3000fps. Most powerful rimfire cartridge available.

I have been shooting my Talo 10/22 and have had a few issues...nothing huge really, but the receiver was slipping around a bit in the stock on me today.

Looks like the wood has shrunk around the receiver ever so slightly thus the receiver isn't fitting firmly into place. I fixed it with some rolled up gun patches placed behind the backside of the receiver where it fits into the stock and then tightened down the front Allen head screw. This worked, but just seems crazy that it would do that. It was throwing my scope off a bit, that's how I noticed it at first, and then I could feel it rattle a bit when I shook the stock/receiver assembly when I had the barrel separated in take down.

I could call Ruger and have it sent in I guess, and maybe I will, but this simple fix seems to work for now. I actually found a new Ruger black synthetic take down stock and foregrip on eBay for 40 bucks, probably going to use that and save my wood Talo stock from getting beat to death. I really wanted the exclusive stock and carrying case, would rather have the other stock for actual use and put my wood stock in the safe since I'm weird like that...

I would call and see what they will do for you. That would drive me crazy. They should pay for shipping both ways.

There's a pic of the survival rifle, the Ruger Talo with a Weaver scope and Ruger BX-25 mag, the Evil Roy Henry, and the Original Henry Engraved Edition with another pic showing the close up of the wood.

This is the railroad tribute rifle. It's a .22 also. All the guns in the pics are .22 except for the Henry Original which is 44-40 (FYI for those that aren't familiar with these guns).

That takedown is really interesting. I can't even see where the foregrip and stock interface. You have a really nice collection going. Beautiful guns.

Just added to the collection again today, got a Henry Big Boy .44 magnum large loop lever carbine. Haven't got pics up yet, took it out last night and gave my shoulder a nice beating...not too bad really, but it's definitely a mean little bastard. And expensive to shoot too, .44 magnum is some spensive crap. Saving my brass, should be able to reload for it and the Original Henry in 44-40.
