Laquan McGowan, a 6'7" by 410 lb offensive guard is being tried at TE during spring practices. Before you laugh, he caught an 18 yd TD pass in their bowl game as a tackle eligible. He has huge soft hands, much like we discovered James Castleman did in our bowl game.
I could see this definitely developing as a trend in college football in the near future, especially in short yardage and goal line situations. A lot of these massive athletes played multiple sports in high school, including basketball. Why not use them?
